Jente Pironet fell in love with music at the young age of fifteen. Inspired by the popularity of bands performing at local venues, Jente decided for himself that this is what he wanted. He formed his first band, existing of only a drummer a lead guitarist and Jente as singer and rhytm guitarist. It took only one performance of the youngsters for Jente to realise this is what he wants to do! He loved  writing songs and performing on stage, but it was mainly the appreciation of the public that made him crave for more.
Eventually a bassist was added to the line up  and the band switched to a different drummer. Now they were ready to start defining the band which was named FROZEN. It was decided to play a mix of blues, hard rock and alternative rock influenced by a.o. Dire Straits, Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin,… . In it’s relative short 2 years existence the band won the RedBull Music Academy Wildcard, performed at Humo’s Rock Rally, supported a lot of well known bands, and played the most important venues and events in the country (Depot Leuven, Bozar and Botanique Brussels, Trix and Singel Antwerp,…). Gaining experience and popularity, the band felt the need to grow and approach their music more mature and serious. They switched to a new bass player and raised their musical level playing songs inspired by bands like King Crimson and Pink Floyd. With the new style and line up, the band needed a new identity and was renamed SHYLIPS.
They started writing intensively on a whole new repertoire and plans were made to start recording an EP in one year. Shylips ceased  playing gigs for that year and decided not to climb any stages before everything was absolutely perfect, so they rehearsed at a crazy schedule. Amazing songs were created, each resembling  a miniature rock-opera.
Meanwhile Jente’s passion for music just kept on growing and at that time he

became greatly impressed by Bob Dylan’s music and life. This made Jente to start working more on his own acoustic songs. Because of Shylips being temporarily inactive and Jente missed the stage he loved so much and felt the need to express his musical creativity in yet another way, he bought himself a new guitar and some harps and started performing solo. This project turned out to be more than just a fling. After passing by the coziest clubs, theaters and local radio stations Jente proved that his musicianship was perfect for this kind of approach. He kept on writing new tracks and fine tuning his older songs as he kept on digging in the archives of all the great singer/songwriter icons of the world. His writing was fueled by the likes of Neil Young, Jeff and Tim Buckley and Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young as well as the more current Bon Iver. Jente Pironet aims to add the right meaning to the words he is singing by supporting them with the perfect music.
After sending a demo at the right time to the right place, 2Brains Entertainment became very interested in the young artists and signed him, to set the first steps and to build on Jente’s musical carreer.

Meanwhile Jente studies journalism at the Erasmus Hogeschool Brussels which he struggles trough with reluctance. Nonetheless he tries his best to finish this chapter with a happy end, so he has this as a failsafe. Just because dreams do not always come true.
